Job Description
The VP of Artistic Administration oversees the full scope of artistic programming for the Nashville Symphony, including Classical, Pops, Movie, Family and Jazz Series, along with special events with orchestra and presentations without orchestra. Working closely with the Nashville Symphony’s artistic leadership, the VP is responsible for developing a programming strategy that will fulfill the institution’s artistic mission, build audiences and generate operating revenue through ticket sales. Integral to their role, the VP oversees all guest artist activity at Schermerhorn Symphony Center, working with the Artistic Administration team to ensure that artists’ travel, lodging and hospitality needs are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The VP of Artistic Administration supervises the Director of Artistic Administration, Manager of Artistic Administration and Artistic Coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
