    Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company is in search of a Human Resources Manager to join their HR team!

    POSITION SUMMARY: Works with top management to develop the strategies and policies of the organization’s Human Resources function. Directs the development, implementation and communication, consistent and legal application of corporate-wide policies and programs covering Human Resources, including, but not limited to compensation, executive compensation, benefits, talent management, employee relations, safety and health, and retirement programs. Originates human resource policies and practices which will provide a balanced program throughout all locations of the organization.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Directs the interpretation and application of established human resources policies throughout the organization. Provides appropriate communications and promotes employee understanding of programs, policies, and objectives.
    • Administers wage and salary policies and structures, and performance appraisal programs. Assures that the organization’s compensation program is competitive and equitable and in keeping with the organization’s compensation philosophy. Develops the organization’s Compensation Policy.
    • Develops and maintains Job Descriptions to comply with various regulations, including GMPs, as well as compensation benchmarking activities.
    • Manages labor law issues including consulting with external legal counsel when appropriate to achieve resolution.
    • Develops and rolls-out employee training programs including Management, Benefit Education, and other programs (e.g. cGMP).
    • Maintains employee benefits programs, assesses benefit needs and trends, recommends benefit programs to management, and obtains and evaluates benefit contract bids.
    • Maintains overall supervision of the organization’s recruitment, placement, and training programs.
    • Conducts a continuing study of all human resources policies, programs, and practices to keep the organization abreast if current practice and informed of new developments. Responsible for creating and implement new policies and practices.
    • Protects interests of employees in accordance with the organization’s human resource policies and appropriate governmental laws and regulations such as O.S.H.A., F.L.S.A., E.R.I.S.A., H.I.P.A.A., wage and hour, worker’s compensation.
    • Participates in the establishment of long-range objectives for department programs.
    • Co-administers organizational health and safety programs, coordinates with Safety Manager to achieve required results.
    • Directs and maintains various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale.
    • Directs the preparation and maintenance of reports that are necessary to carry out functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports to top management, as necessary or requested.
    • Interviews prospective employees for executive, exempt and non-exempt positions (including sales and technical), refers applicants to department managers, develops pre-employment tests, checks references and conducts exit interviews.
    • Coordinates selection, promotion and placement of intra-company transfers of personnel.
    • Represents the Company in worker’s compensations, unemployment insurance, and labor grievances.
    • Provides confidential advisory service for employees on matters pertaining to alcohol and substance abuse, family issues, and other personal problems.
    • Manages the performance appraisal process.
    • General department responsibilities include staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.
    • Human Resource functions to include managing Total Reward Program as appropriate for their department, subordinate performance reviews, recommending promotions, issuing disciplinary warnings, time clock administration, as well as work shift assignment scheduling.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational symposia; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, etc.
    • Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.
    • Assures compliance by following Food and Drug Agency's Good Manufacturing Practices as well as other regulatory standards as required by the department.
    • Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    • 7+ years of experience as a Senior HR Generalist with a manufacturing company.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment (SOP, GMP, etc.) a plus
    • Experience working with Paychex a plus
    • Working knowledge of employment and labor laws (DOL, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, etc.)
    • Keen understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced environment
    • Solid communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Good recordkeeping skills with strong attention to detail
    • Strong computer skills - MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
