    Job Description

    **Position Overview:
    The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 403(b) plan.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:**

    • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.

    • Assists with new-employee orientations.

    • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.

    • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.

    • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.

    • Enrolls employees with carriers and processes life status changes.

    • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

    • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.

    • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.

    • Responds to 403(b) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.

    • Assists with the open enrollment process.

    • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.

    • May assist with wellness initiatives and other benefit activities to increase employee engagement along with other duties as assigned

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Associates degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.

    Prior experience of at least 2 years in a Human Resources and or Benefits related position

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with great attention to detail and ability to execute multiple tasks with changing priorities

    • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information with respect and aid in its protection

    • Solutions oriented with the ability to quickly identify problems and propose solutions

    • Strong communication skills and willingness to work with and provide excellent customer service to others

    • Good, working knowledge of HR/payroll systems (preferably Paylocity), Microsoft Office, Google Suites and other related systems with the desire to learn more and teach others

    Additional Information

    This position will have a schedule of 9:00am - 3:00pm Monday through Friday with the possibility of working additional hours as needed.

    The starting pay for this position is $30 an hour.
