    Job Description

    First things first—we are begrudgingly calling this role “Business Development Representative” so it shows up for the right categories on job boards. Since we have a lot more to offer than a typical “BDR” role, we’ll work out a better title once you’re on board. We promise.

    If you're looking for an opportunity to grow and stretch your already-considerable sales skill set and make a huge impact on a small content agency (with a remote team that is actually nice to work with), read on. Otherwise, there’s always the back button.

    WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

    • You are the first sales person we’ve hired. Ever. And you’ll be the only person looking at and communicating with each inbound lead. They’re all yours.
    • You’ll be building our outbound approach, as well. And we have a great content team with some good ideas that can support you.
    • You’ll be interacting with smart people at brainiac B2B companies who want to grow their businesses. You’ll help determine if growth content services, and Nectafy, are the right fit.
    • You will manage the entire sales process up and through the first exploratory call.
    • You’ll have the ability to try stuff and fail. And try other things. And then be pretty excited when you discover something that works so well that it predictably helps close new clients.
    • You won’t be micromanaged, second-guessed, office-sat, or memoed to death.
    • We’re looking for someone who can succeed in this role and then quickly replace Lance, our founder, in the sales process (and that would come with a promotion).

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Qualify every inbound lead that comes through the Nectafy website.
    • Set up and run an exploratory call with each qualified prospect.
    • Manage all leads, tasks, and opportunities through the HubSpot CRM.
    • Research and reach out to potential B2B clients.
    • Introduce Lance to qualified prospects who could be a good fit based on your exploratory call.
    • Create marketing forecasts and proposals for potential clients.
    • Hit monthly activity goals and quarterly quotas, and earn unlimited commission after that.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least one year of professional experience (B2B sales experience with actual, numbers-based results is preferred)
    • Engaging verbal and written communication skills
    • Driven by measurable goals (and compensated accordingly)
    • Love to learn, experiment, test, and constantly improve
    • Conversations energize you, and rejection motivates you
    • Bachelor's degree in something useful (Just kidding about the “useful” part. Lance has a degree in history, so there's that.)
    • Live in the United States (so you can overlap with our team and clients during the day)
    • Fun to be around (at least virtually)

    BENEFITS

    • Base Salary: $40k (On-Target Earnings: $55K)
    • Commission: 7-10% of revenue, no cap
    • 4-Day (32-Hour) Work Week (We don’t work on Fridays.)
