    Job Description

    Compass Government Solutions is seeking a Network Dissemination Coordinator (NDC) to support Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE) at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska.

    Provide TBI education for various healthcare providers and members of the healthcare team who are involved in the care of service members and veterans with traumatic brain injury. In coordination with designated government leads (normally the government site director and the government lead at TBICOE Headquarters) and with the contract Network Dissemination Coordinator, s/he will be responsible for a variety of duties to provide education for Service Members, veterans and their families on the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of traumatic brain injury. Will deliver education programs directly to healthcare providers/clinicians families, spouses, ancillary staff and the military and civilian community on traumatic brain injury. Will coordinate education and training activities for patient/family and community awareness initiatives. Because this role provides both local site services and provides service on a regional basis, the individual must coordinate issues that affect network regional support (i.e. support that is outside the authority of the local government site director) with the TBICOE HQ government lead.

    ** Job Requirements**

    • Assist in the development of TBI educational initiatives aimed at teaching the healthcare team.
    • Assures that healthcare providers are aware of and understand new clinical care standards of practice for traumatic brain injury (particularly TBICoE Clinical Recommendations and VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines).
    • Works collaboratively with the clinical staff in providing educational opportunities for the multidisciplinary team involved in the care of military and veterans with TBI.
    • Delivers education programs and/or provides information on TBI to service members, veterans, families and civilians.
    • Assists in the development of education programs tailored to healthcare providers.
    • Provides consultation to military and veterans sites related to TBI educational issues.
    • Conducts outreach activities within region to expand opportunities to provide TBI education and information about TBICOE programs and services.
    • Serves as a resource for information and education on TBI at the TBICOE network site and for the assigned region.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in health-related/clinical field required.
    • 2 years of experience teaching healthcare or related topics.
    • 2 years of experience in the care of patients with TBI (inpatient, outpatient, and/or rehabilitation settings) required.
    • Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care strongly preferred.
    • Experience with the development of education and training activities for the healthcare field; specifically for curriculum used to educate patients, healthcare providers, military line/unit leaders and the general public on TBI-related issues.
    • Knowledge of healthcare and care for the traumatic brain injured patient required.
    • Experience with developing and teaching on healthcare topics required.
    • Excellent communications skills including: Public speaking, Classroom and meeting facilitation, Interpersonal skills, Networking, and building collaborations
    • Must be able to work independently and function as part of a team.
    • Computer proficiency – software and hardware as related to educational program development for both presentations and database management required.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Creativity is a must and Flexibility is a must.
    • Adherence to legal, professional, and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy

    Physical Capabilities: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to carry light items – up to 25 lbs. May encounter patients who are confused, agitated or abusive.

    Work Environment: Office, community, and clinical environment. Must be available to travel locally, regionally and nationally to fulfill outreach and education requirements.
