    The Network Engineer 2 is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of LAN, WAN and Cloud-related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This person will assist with the design, build out and installation of LAN/WAN/Cloud infrastructure deployments as well as provide support for existing physical Data Center core routing and switching infrastructure. Conducts network wide audits for compliance with established standards and best practice configuration guidelines. This individual ensures that LAN/WAN/Cloud infrastructure and related procedures adhere to organizational goals in support of staff, team members and customers.

    What you'll do here:

    Ensures LAN/WAN integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions; manage the documentation and administrate needs of a LAN/WAN infrastructure including those in our virtual environments.

    Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

    Design and optimize network solutions that include routers, switches and firewalls to maximize network and Data Center (physical and virtual) up time.

    Develop maintenance routines for network infrastructure including those in the cloud.

    Manage security processes for network elements and provide mitigation plan for security issues.

    Responsible for software updates and patches on various nodes on the network.

    Proactively analyzes vulnerabilities in the network and provide a strategy for mitigation.

    Coordinate and install wide area network components, coordinating carriers circuit installations, configuration and hardware deployment.

    Work with management to develop strategy for operational SLAs to ensure contractual obligations are met.

    Provide Tier II and Tier III support per requests from various constituencies.

    Investigate and troubleshoot issues.

    Provide off hours support as needed via on call program.

    Skills you’ll bring for success:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related technical degree preferred

    Minimum CCNA or Network+ or equivalent certification required; CCNP preferred

    At least 5 years’ experience in computer systems and network technologies, including NAC, routing, switching, cloud and trunking/LAG

    Experience with log correlation tools; preferably Splunk

    Experience with QoS design, development, and management

    Experience with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto and/or router-based IOS firewalls

    Experience with IDS/IPS technologies

    Working knowledge of management tools (CiscoWorks, Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, PRTG)

    Experience designing, implementing, and administering Cloud environments, specifically AWS, is strongly preferred

    Working knowledge and deployment experience of BGP, OSPF and EIGRP in complex LAN/WAN topologies

    Hands-on experience with VPN and encryption technology

    Experience with SIEM technologies; Splunk preferred

    Compensation

    Annual Salary: $95,000 - $110,000
