    Network Engineer

    Location: Hybrid with at least 1 day in the office. Offices located in Peoria, Bloomington & Chicago (O'Hare area). 

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure for SMBs(small to medium-sized businesses). The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in networks, a passion for solving complex problems, and a commitment to ensuring optimal network performance and security.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Design and Implementation: Assist in architecting, configuring, and deploying network solutions that support the company’s telecommunications services in the SMB market. Ensure that designs meet industry standards and are scalable for future growth.

      • Working on the backbone of internet service providers, managing wide-area networks (WANs), and ensuring reliable service delivery to customers.

      • Managing and optimizing telecommunications networks, including mobile networks, VoIP, and other communication systems.

      • Implementing and maintaining the network systems that support voice, data, and video communications.

    • Network Maintenance: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance issues. Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure the stability and security of the network.

      • Overseeing network performance, addressing latency, and ensuring uptime for large customer bases.

      • Work on daily escalations.

    • Project Management: Participate in projects working with new products, refreshing existing products as well as adding new routers, etc.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of network services.

    • Security Management: Implement and manage network security protocols to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.

    • Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize network performance to improve efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance overall user experience.

    • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, configurations, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.

    Required Skills:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering.

    • Proficiency in network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).

    • Experience with network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and software.

    • Strong knowledge of network security principles and practices.

    • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical

    • issues.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.

    • Network engineering experience within the telecommunications industry.

    • Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.

    $90,000-$115,000 per year
