Position Summary:

In this role, you'll work daily with our Operational Network Engineer and other on-site System Support Specialists based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to carry out Managed Switch setups, Cable Labeling, Network Hardware Maintenance, and Server Cabinet Security for the network infrastructure that supports our systems. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our network operations by identifying issues, solving problems, and ensuring seamless performance.
You'll collaborate with the Network Operations Engineer and other team members to uphold outstanding quality standards, exceed customer expectations, and maintain compliance with all ISO Standards. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and executing critical network support tasks to ensure the success of our on-site systems, support teams, and customers. As part of our rapidly growing organization, your contributions will be essential to sustaining and improving our network reliability and performance.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the on-site point of contact, working closely with the Senior Network Engineer, CIO, CTO, internal teams, and clients as needed during a hybrid 2nd and 3rd shift to support production sites.
- Ensure smooth network operations for Apkudo's robotics and automation solutions by working on-site with network equipment (schedule may vary based on business and client needs).
- Respond to and resolve network issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor and maintain network performance, including VLAN configuration, managed switch configuration, and ticketing for network access (e.g., Meraki SSID access).
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop forward-thinking network solutions.
- Manage and maintain networking inventory, including spare parts, and report part needs to network operations.
- Foster strong relationships with internal teams for seamless day-to-day collaboration.
- Plan and execute routine and corrective maintenance to uphold network integrity.
- Streamline support materials, such as training guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Drive company and client KPIs by ensuring network efficiency and reliability.
- Complete and document daily and weekly tasks to maintain transparency and track progress.
- Support the Senior Network Engineer, Customer Success, and Business Unit teams by collecting data for client reporting reviews.
- Assist with onboarding of new and existing System Support Specialists and System Support Engineers within Meraki across customer sites.
- Support internal IT troubleshooting by submitting tickets for on-site staff experiencing VPN issues.
- Receive training on RF Spectrum Analyzer for Wi-Fi mapping and troubleshooting to enhance network performance.
- Collaborate with the Network Operations Engineer on daily compliance and safety checks, as well as approved work plans for network expansion, improvements, and troubleshooting.
- Meet weekly with the Network Operations Engineer to review progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
- Participate in a Level 1 On-Call schedule after completing necessary training.
- Conduct walkthroughs with cabling vendors for upcoming projects to facilitate bid submissions.
- Perform on-site work at Dallas customer sites 100% of each week, with special allowance approvals required from the Senior Network Engineer or CIO (in their absence) if no on-site work is needed.
What you'll need:
- A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (3+ years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
- 3+ years of progressive experience in networking and information system security.
- 1+ years of hands-on networking experience with WAN, LAN, and VLAN.
- Experience working with Cisco Meraki equipment.
- Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

The Fine Print:
You must be available to work on-site 100% of the time and have flexibility with shift days and hours based on business needs. This role requires travel between multiple customer sites within a 20-25 minute drive around Dallas, where you will perform on-site network support and maintenance.
Physical requirements include:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- Occasional ladder work, bending, and kneeling.
- Working on a computer for extended periods.
- Handling cabling and installing managed network hardware.
