    Summary:

    D'Youville University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team. This position will work directly under the Manager of Network Services and will be primarily responsible for assisting in the documentation and data gathering for the GLBA IT Cybersecurity Audit and assessments. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and protecting our computer networks and systems from cyber threats. This role involves log analysis, understanding various cybersecurity tools, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure the security of our digital assets.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in conducting cybersecurity audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks including NIST 100-171, HIPAA, FERPA, and GLBA for Higher Education.
    • Collaborate with the Manager of Network Services and other IT team members to gather and document relevant cybersecurity data and information.
    • Assist in analyzing cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
    • Participate in the development and maintenance of cybersecurity documentation, including policies, standards, and procedures.
    • Help in the implementation of cybersecurity best practices and recommendations based on audit findings.
    • Assist in conducting risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats and weaknesses.
    • Support incident response activities by helping to investigate security incidents and breaches.
    • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices.
    • Use generative AI and other LLM AI to analyze and write frameworks.
    • Analyze logs from various sources (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM) to identify potential threats.
    • Monitor computer networks for security issues and investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
    • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
    • Provide support in the installation and configuration of security software and hardware.
    • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption programs.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Associate’s, Bachelor's, or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, a related field or equivalent professional experience.
    • Experience with cloud security and securing cloud-based environments.
    • Familiarity with advanced security tools and technologies.
    • Experience in incident response and forensic analysis.
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and standards, particularly NIST 100-171, HIPAA, FERPA, per GLBA Guidelines.
    • Familiarity with network and system security technologies and tools.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Prior experience with cybersecurity audits, assessments, or compliance is a plus.

    Pay: $72,500.00 - $75,500 Annually
