Job description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic New Patient Coordinator to join our team. As the New Patient Coordinator, you will serve as the primary point of contact for individuals seeking to become new patients at our practice. You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, guiding prospective patients through the intake process, and ensuring a seamless transition into our care.
Full-time: 40 hours per week. This is a DAY SHIFT (8AM-5PM) Monday -Friday. These times may vary depending on need.
Applicants must be fluent in English. Fluency in other languages preferred.
Responsibilities:
· Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
· Assist with additional administrative tasks as assigned by office management.
· Serve as the initial point of contact for individuals inquiring about becoming new patients at our practice.
· Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, email, or in-person, providing information about our services, providers, and appointment availability.
· Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently; acquire necessary authorizations and referrals as needed.
· Schedule new patient appointments, coordinating with medical staff to ensure availability and appropriate scheduling.
· Communicate with patients to confirm appointments, provide necessary pre-appointment instructions, and address any questions or concerns.
· Assist new patients with completing intake forms and medical history questionnaires, ensuring all necessary information is collected prior to their appointment.
· Collaborate with medical staff and administrative team members to facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new patients.
· Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
· Assist Patients in requesting previous medical records and supporting imaging and reports, i.e.., CT scans, MRI’s, etc.
Requirements:
Must be willing to travel to work in each of our locations.
Desire and ability to continuously improve one's knowledge.
Previous experience in a customer service or patient-facing role within a healthcare setting preferred.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) software and basic computer skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and effectively address their needs.
· Empathetic and compassionate demeanor, dedicated to providing a positive patient experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures preferred.
License/Certification:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is preferred.
