    New Pioneer Food Co-op, a leading local food marketplace in the Iowa City-Cedar Rapids Corridor, is seeking a visionary leader to serve as Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the cooperative in alignment with our mission and values while overseeing the overall operations of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead the New Pioneer Leadership Team and supervise the Financial Manager, Marketing Manager, Human Resources Manager, Operations Lead, Prep Foods Team Lead, Purchasing Lead and Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Iowa City Store Team Leads.

    Essential Responsibilities and Functions:

    · Board Relations and Planning: Meet with the Board and Board committees as required. Keep the Board informed of relevant current or emerging issues and trends. Develop and recommend long and short-range plans to achieve agreed-upon goals and vision.

    · Financial Management and Asset Protection: Direct all financial operations of the cooperative. Ensure secure financial management systems and accurate reporting. Develop annual and multi-year budgets and deliver results within budget. Raise additional capital to enable New Pioneer to meet its objectives, as required.

    · Operations: Ensure a profitable, growing business. Maintain knowledge of natural foods retailing and industry trends. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws regarding licenses, permits, health regulations, employment, etc.

    · Leadership: Motivate and lead a high-performance Leadership Team focused on staff excellence and satisfaction. Foster an accountable, transparent, and results-oriented work environment that encourages staff participation in decision-making and properly acknowledges and accounts for success through rewards and recognition.

    · Member and External Relationships: Ensure effective communications and relationships with New Pioneer members to ascertain needs; respond to questions, concerns, and suggestions; and ensure robust participation in program management and development.
