SUMMARY:
Perform numerous routine procedures to assemble and test a wide range of Radiant Mixing Block/X-Changer pumps from a variety of components.
Required Skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work from verbal instructions, diagrams and written procedures. Utilize computer to access job queue and order-specific information. Access resource information via computer such as product blueprints and work instructions (MPS).
- Set up and prepare cell for operation, including the Tox machine, the PC board testers, the electrical connections/wire crimper, and the ground continuity tester.
- Work between two workstations to perform repetitive operations, such as pressing stator into housing, assembling base to housing, connecting capacitor; assembling cover to base, assembling ground screw, assembling timer and inserting timer into pumps. Use power tools such as pneumatic socket screw driver, to build the pump from components such as: casings, O-rings, plate, cartridge and bolts.
- Secure circulator to test stand, perform visual inspection to ensure motor and body are in correct position, attach to test stand, observe entire product for seal leaks, porosity and loose bolts. Make minor adjustments as necessary to keep product within quality standards. Hook up electrical contacts and perform prescribed electrical tests. Disconnect electrical and air connections and move product to the next station.
- Visually checks for quality and repairs defects to ensure the product meets defined standards. Remove and maintain accurate record of defective units.
- Maintains a Statistical Process Control (SPC) Torque Chart to record torque measurements; report measurements that fall outside of prescribed range to supervisor
- Complete packing duties, including labeling products, putting products in boxes, stacking boxes on pallets and completing packing lists. Operate the automatic box stapler, manual staple guns, foam pack machine and the label printer.
- Cross-train to learn and perform duties in other cells within the line as business need requires.
- Maintain necessary records, move average weight material (over 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs.) as needed. Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
- Maintain work area and equipment in neat and orderly condition. Follow general and prescribed safety and health rules and regulations, such as wearing gloves to perform operations.
- Perform other related duties as required or directed.
Required Experience
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3-months of experience in a production environment, preferably as an assembler
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and effectively apply to assigned work
- Ability to navigate multiple windows in company Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) system to access production and resource data
- Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity, and including standing and lifting
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes
- Requires judgment to comply with instructions, prescribed routines, methods and practices
- High school diploma or GED
