    SUMMARY

    This position will be responsible for litigation support, preparing documents for discovery, assisting in managing databases, assisting in administering board support functions, assisting in preparing routine corporate governance documentation and handling other cross-functional legal administration duties from time to time. This position supports origination and ongoing legal administration of initiatives within a legal department that manages and/or supports traditional corporate legal, risk management and audit functions. The role will from time to time combine litigation, regulatory, and transactional work. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Maintains legal files, office files and records in accordance with internal procedures.

    Responds to routine requests for information and refers more complex requests to appropriate staff members.

    Prepares routine letters and memoranda from specific instructions.

    Assembles relevant data, and compiles information and reports as directed.

    Prepare information and gather necessary documents to respond to subpoenas and discovery requests in a timely manner.

    Conduct telephone and personal interviews.

    Investigate facts relevant to matters in which the Legal Department is involved.

    Create detailed legal and management reports, analyses and presentations by using computer programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint& Excel) to create charts, graphs and slides as needed.

    Assist in the implementation of programs and projects designed to ensure the organization’s continued compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Manage, track and report on the status of legal and commercial issues from other departments to ensure these issues and projects are resolved in timely fashion.

    Create and maintain records in matter management systems such as Serengeti Tracker.

    Create, upload and assist in Corporate Board support through using online Board portal, Directors’ Desk software.

    Filing of annual reports for the company and its subsidiaries.

    Participate in and facilitate the preparation, execution and administration of agreements, contracts and other legal documents.

    Prepare routine and confidential letters, legal and commercial research briefs, reports and memoranda from rough drafts or written notes, ensuring accurate grammar, spelling and business formats.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Supervisory or Management Responsibility – Not responsible for supervising others (hiring, firing, performance reviews or corrective action).

    Budget Responsibility – Has no budget responsibility.

    Decision-Making Level and Scope – Decisions generally affect own job or specific functional area.

    Independence of Action – Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager. Follows precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines established by supervisor/manager who is available to resolve problems.

    Any other duty, task or responsibility as assigned.

     

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Minimum Degree: Two-year college degree or meet minimum experience requirements

    Course of study: Paralegal Studies

    Special Certification or Licensing: Paralegal Certificate or comparable experience

    Special Requirements: May work beyond normal company hours due to business/customer need

     

    EXPERIENCE           

    Minimum experience: 3+ years as a paralegal or meet minimum educational requirements.

     

    Legal Age Requirements: At least 18 years of age

     

    Preferred Experience:

    Experience with litigation support and preparation of discovery.

    Prior administrative support experience in a computerized office environment.

    Prior experience with a law firm or in a corporate legal environment.

    Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting of boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.

    Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications

    Shall be familiar with Aircraft Load Team Chiefs Operations Guideline/Checklist, flight-line safety, and vehicle requirements.

    Physical requirements may include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport and U. S. or Local Driver’s License.

    Must have the capability of obtaining an Air Force flight line driver’s license.

    Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET or Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to deployment.

    Must be able to pass MOD12 employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
