Job Summary: The Night Auditor is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the hotel during overnight hours. This includes auditing and balancing daily financial transactions, providing customer service to hotel guests, handling check-ins/check-outs, and maintaining accurate records for accounting purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
Night Audit Duties:
Review, reconcile, and balance all financial transactions from the day (including guest folios, credit card charges, and room rates).
Prepare and distribute daily reports for hotel management.
Ensure the accurate recording of all financial activities for the day and prepare reports for management review.
Guest Services:
Assist with late-night check-ins and check-outs.
Address guest inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and friendly manner.
Handle any emergency situations, including security and safety concerns.
Front Desk Operations:
Perform routine front desk duties including answering calls, booking reservations, and assisting with room assignments.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
Safety & Security:
Ensure hotel security protocols are followed during overnight shifts.
Monitor and ensure the safety of guests and staff.
Communication & Coordination:
Communicate important guest or operational information to the morning shift and management team.
Assist with coordinating shift changes and any necessary operational updates.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Previous hotel front desk or customer service experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management software (experience with [insert software name] a plus).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Basic knowledge of accounting or financial reporting is preferred.
