In this role, you will oversee: • Contract drafting and review • Drafting and revising Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation, and other founding documents. • Ensuing Corporate Compliance at the federal and state levels • Drafting of policies, procedures, and legal documents for nonprofit organizations and businesses You must be a barred attorney in good standing with the state bar association, have a current license to practice law, possess excellent communication skills, have a team-oriented mindset, and be proficient in technology. Responsibilities: • Analyze the legal risk and legal rights of various company structures, and make recommendations for corporation, joint venture, limited partnership, and limited liability company options • Give legal advice to clients on corporate governance, policies, procedures, finances, intellectual property, employment, operations, and regulatory issues, and guide them towards best practices in corporate law regulation compliance • Provide legal counsel during legal proceedings, administrative board reviews, and litigations when necessary • Modify, draft, and review contracts, process and procedure policies, government and financial reports, and other legal documents as required Who We’re Looking For: • A knowledgeable attorney who is committed to continual learning, ready to expand their expertise to meet evolving client needs and stay at the forefront of nonprofit law. • An attorney who excels at understanding clients’ goals and motivations, using strategic legal guidance and clear communication to help clients achieve results efficiently. • A strategic thinker who formulates and communicates a clear legal plan to both clients and the legal team, ensuring alignment on the best path forward. • A skilled legal practitioner who can perform services like legal analysis, strategy planning, document oversight, and client advising. • A collaborative team player who values efficiency through delegation, willingly steps in to support colleagues, and contributes across areas—even outside their specific expertise. • A professional who enjoys networking with colleagues and community members, enhancing the firm’s reputation in the community. Expectations for Attorneys at FPLG: • Conduct Preliminary Legal Strategy Sessions to assess clients’ needs and craft effective legal strategies. • Collaborate with the Legal Team to ensure alignment with client goals, fostering a positive client experience that builds lasting loyalty. • Advise clients at key points, providing clear options to support fully informed decision-making. • Maintain thorough, accessible notes and correspondence, keeping the team and clients up-to-date on recent actions and upcoming steps. • Contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture by participating in training, team-building, and professional development. • Consistently meet monthly billing requirements, ensuring efficient, productive time management and client service. • Achieve quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that support both personal and firm-wide success. Qualifications: • Be a member in good standing of the state bar association and possess a license to practice law Qualifications: • J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state (preferably CA). • 3-6 years of legal experience, preferably with exposure to non-profit law, business law, or a related field. • Strong commitment to the mission-driven sector and a passion for social impact. Required Skills: • Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. • Proficiency in using legal research software, and case management systems. • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues. • Must be tech-savvy, with a strong aptitude for learning and utilizing new technologies and digital platforms to streamline legal processes. Compensation: $100,000 - $140,000 yearly
