Job Purpose
Support the Executive Director and Fund Development Committee in developing, managing, and expanding all facets of AISS, with the goal of doubling fundraising revenues. The Fund Development Coordinator collaborates with various organizations to secure funding and sponsorships. They assist the Executive Director in identifying, cultivating, and securing new donors, as well as stewarding existing donors to retain and upgrade their contributions. Additionally, they ensure all donors feel valued and proud to support AISS.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Fund Development Coordinator (FDC) to join our team! Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fund Development Coordinator will play a crucial role in advancing our fundraising initiatives. This position involves developing strategic plans, nurturing existing donor relationships, and cultivating new ones from corporate, foundation, and individual sources. The Coordinator will collaborate with business partners and organize key fundraising events, including the annual benefit dinner and seasonal events. In addition, you will work closely with other members of the fund development team and other departments to ensure our mission is being met, donor databases are being maintained, and the lines of communication between donors and the organization are open.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate has direct fundraising experience and is passionate about youth and community development, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative environment. They should be adept at articulating the organization’s mission, consistently working towards set objectives, and representing AISS in fund development, marketing, and fundraising event meetings. Experience in creating marketing materials for communication purposes is essential. The candidate should also possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in emails, proposal development, and copy-editing. They should be self-directed, capable of working effectively with diverse individuals and groups, and be a creative, innovative, and independent self-starter.
Responsibilities
Fund Development (75%)
In collaboration with the executive director, develop and execute AISS’ annual fundraising plan to ensure fundraising goals are met or exceeded.
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations, aiming for large ($50K+) donors.
Manage the implementation of donor tracking and oversee record keeping and gift processing and prompt acknowledgement letters.
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with donors, ensuring donor satisfaction and program quality.
Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of individual donors.
Assist the executive director in developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising.
Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including the annual gala with the Events Committee, including securing auction items and donations.
Research and identify potential new donors; maintain a donor prospect list and database, and initiate sponsorships.
Manage project workflow and oversee daily milestones with the management and development team.
Secure and lead meetings with new donor prospects or coordinate the executive director’s participation.
Support the executive director’s donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.
Marketing and Communications (25%)
Promote events via flyers, social media, and digital marketing with the marketing team.
Ensure regular communication with donors to steward relationships.
Create essential marketing materials to support fund development activities.
Contribute data and writing for newsletters, announcements and social media channels
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in business management, public relations, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of relevant fundraising experience and 2 to 3 years of experience in project organization, sales marketing, nonprofit management, digital marketing, social media, or digital media promotions, with a strong understanding of written and visual messaging.
Ability to foster positive relationships with current and potential business partners.
Collaborate closely with the social media department to plan marketing events and programs.
Experience working with diverse teams and promoting a positive brand image and company initiatives.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects efficiently.
Experience in planning large-scale events and fundraisers.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. Deadline-driven, critical thinker who takes initiative and has experience launching new ideas or driving process improvements.
Proficiency with donor databases and website navigation is highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Applications, and relational databases.
Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Linktree.
