HOW WILL THIS ROLE IMPACT FIRST COMMAND?
First Command Bank’s core and digital banking solutions are top drivers of revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and advisor success. Reporting to the Chief Information and Digital Officer, the VP & CTO for First Command Bank is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will champion the efforts in support of First Command Bank’s (and First Command Financial Services’) technology roadmap and vision. The CTO will serve on the FCB ALCO Committee and participate in quarterly FCB Board of Director meetings. The CTO will partner with key internal stakeholders including FCB/FCFS Executives, Advisor Services, Marketing, Client Experience, Compliance, Operations, field leadership and business line leadership to enhance and evolve the digital banking experience ecosystem. The successful candidate will bring passion for our core military market and desire to understand and empathize with the unique needs and challenges of First Command’s clients demonstrated through solution strategy and delivery that meets those needs.
The CTO’s primary responsibilities include:
Collaborate and influence First Command and First Command Bank leadership, and other stakeholders, to create a compelling client-centric and growth focused vision and execution roadmap for the bank’s digital transformation, aligned to First Command enterprise transformation.
Lead a team of Product Delivery and Technical resources through Lean-Agile leadership, approaches and methodologies to continuously improve Team, Technical, and Organizational Agility.
Establish and maintain the Bank's Continuous Delivery Pipeline, ensuring consistent project delivery on cost, on scope, and within quality targets. Work with business leaders to select and implement suitable technology to improve the client experiences, streamline internal operations and reduce risk
Develop and foster productive relationships with the Bank's and First Command’s software and service providers.
Guide and advise stakeholders about disruptive technologies and trends, leveraging innovation for client experience and bank growth objectives.
Lead analysis of the business's future-state capabilities and current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement, growth and sustained improvement.
Participate in industry and peer groups to understand changes and advancements in technology in an effort to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage, improve efficiencies or improve the client and field experience.
Lead and develop a team of professionals to improve working knowledge of technology used within the Bank organization and assist in effective adoption and use of technology within the end user community
Contribute to the development of fluid and client-centric service and support provided by the team across the bank.
Ensure development execution is tightly aligned with First Command DevOps standards and best practices.
Ensure annual certifications as part of effective IT controls are conducted and reviewed as part of ongoing governance, audits, and controls and in alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements. Drive bank regulatory compliance-by-design through the use of effective non-functional requirements in both technology solution design and process design.
