NORTH SKY COMMUNICATIONS, LLC is a full service contractor serving the telecommunications industry, with operations primarily focused on the West Coast. The Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dycom Industries, Inc. (NYSE:DY), a leading provider of specialty contracting services throughout the United States.
We are currently recruiting for an ACCOUNTING CONTROLS MANAGER to join our team.
The work location is flexible, and could include:
- Full time in our corporate office in Vancouver, Washington
- Hybrid: Working partly in the Vancouver office, and partly remotely
SUMMARY
The Accounting Controls Manager is responsible for operating and reviewing SOX controls to maintain compliance with applicable internal controls procedures and promote effective internal controls at the Company.
The Accounting Controls Manager works under the guidance of the Principal Accounting Officer, and also works closely with the Financial Controller and Accounting Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operation of SOX controls
- Gain a thorough understanding of the Company’s key financial processes, internal control environment, and SOX controls.
- Operate multiple SOX controls in various transaction cycles, maintaining complete and timely documentation:
- Revenue, including review of AR postings.
- Expenditures, including reviewing and managing disbursement requests, and approving vendor changes.
- Financial Close, including review of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations with the Financial Controller and Accounting Manager.
- Fixed Assets, including managing the annual fixed asset inventory
REVIEW OF SOX CONTROLS
- Review SOX controls completed by others to ensure effective operation, and timely documentation. Examples include review of revenue transactions, revenue and cost units, and open purchase order reviews.
- Provide oversight and training for SOX controls and other processes to existing staff and new employees.
- Manage the monthly financial controls certification checklist.
AUDIT SUPPORT
- Review internal and external audit requests, and coordinate with field and administrative staff as needed to collect and assemble documentation to timely respond to audit requests.
- Respond to auditor follow-up items, and work with other Finance managers to timely resolve audit questions.
OTHER DUTIES
- Provide training, guidance, and support to corporate and field office staff.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Master’s Degree or CPA/CIA preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of applicable work experience, such as External Audit, Internal Audit, and/or Accounting roles in a SOX environment.
- Supervisory/coaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of job cost accounting preferred.
- Experience with mid to upper tier ERPs. Applications at North Sky Communications include Microsoft Dynamics and ReQlogic DXC.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Excel in particular. Experience with Google Sheets, Smartsheets and Power BI preferred.
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)
- Standard office environment requiring sitting at desk with some bending, stooping, walking
- Hours and schedules are determined based on accounting and project schedules and in compliance with any regulations; on average, must be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
