On our client's behalf, North Wind Services (NWS) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of an Industrial Professional. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customer's mission. The successful candidate will be an employee of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel. Day-to-day direction will be provided by the client to ensure work performance meets all business, technical, legal, safety, regulatory and environmental requirements.
The successful candidate will be a part of the Engineering team and responsible for managing/coordinating all Engineering owned Condition Reports (CRs), all Engineering procedures, Engineering metrics, & Engineering Lessons Learned. The successful candidate will be the point of contact/subject matter expert in Engineering programmatic & procedural issues. This will include focused interface with all stakeholders on these topics.
Essential Duties
- Lead all Quality Engineering efforts including interface with all stakeholders (i.e., Project Quality reps, and Government customers, as well as other project departments).
- Engineering POC for Engineering assigned Condition Reports (CRs).
- Take on ownership of CRs that address departmental programmatic issues.
- Lead the necessary teams or independently develop solutions to resolve these CRs with minimal oversight.
- Track status of Engineering owned CRs and ensure forecast dates are met and kept current.
- Provides direction to engineers to support preparation and implementation actions for CRs.
- Develop approaches to solving problems and conflicts associated with project condition reports.
- Develop and maintain all Engineering Department metrics. Develop recommended actions based on metric trends and execute these actions.
- Engineering SME for departmental procedures.
- Leads coordination with other departments as well as project customers on the topics of condition reporting, management assessments, lessons learned, and procedure interface points.
- Lead efforts (on behalf of the PEM) to develop and implement Engineering programmatic improvements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities by working with engineering personnel.
- Assist with Procedure/Desktop issuance/updates.
- Lead the tracking of procedure/desktop periodic reviews.
- Follow up on actions taken in response to assessment findings to assure adequacy of completed corrective actions.
- Leads engineering programs as directed by Project Engineering Manager (including but not limited to the Engineering Lessons Learned Program).
- Represents Engineering on project Condition Report Review Committee.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in technical (Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics) field with at least 9 years of experience in an Engineering, Quality, or Science related field. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and 15 years of progressive relevant experience is required.
- Must have a working knowledge of Engineering work processes.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any security clearances required for this position according to Army Regulation 50-6 (Chemical Surety).
- Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Proficiency in the use of a PC computer and Microsoft software.
- Proficiency in leading small teams to resolve issues.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Engineering related experience in an EPC project atmosphere.
- Experience with DevonWay Corrective Action Program.
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
