    North Wind Services is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the science, technology, and engineering fields as part of our supplemental labor team at vital federal research and development installations supporting the Department of Energy. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customer's mission. Available employment opportunities may range from administrative and logistical support to advanced technical positions.

    Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

    The selected candidate will be an employee of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the mission of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. Though employed by NWS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratory. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by NWS.

    The Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) Directorate has an opening for an Operations Business Analyst to provide strategic leadership and provide day-to-day management of the diverse set of functions, disciplines, and personnel within the Office. The successful candidate will be working on projects such as workforce development, human resources, resource management, facilities and space management, fleet and property management, procurement, as well as the Communications, the Document & Records Management (DCRM), and the Safety Education & Training (SETS) organizations.

    The successful candidate will provide the strategic vision to ensure ES&H operations are conducted effectively to support the ES&H mission and its customers and represent the Office's functions internal and external to the Laboratory, including the Livermore Field Office and DOE. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Environment, Safety and Health team and report directly to the Associate Director for ES&H.

    The Environment, Safety and Health Directorate within the Operations and Business Principal Directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has an opening for a business operations professional.

    The successful candidate will report to ES&H Associate Director and will interface with various members of the ES&H AD Office including the ES&H Directorate Administrator, Hiring Manager, Operations Manager, Business and Training Specialist, Assurance Manager, Project and Operations Supervisor, and Resource Manager. This role will not have authority to make decisions on any current or future business, financial, or operational matters, nor does it include approval, concurrence, or signature authority.

    Essential Duties

    - Assist in the transfer of historical knowledge and processes for operational aspects of the ES&H Directorate on matters related to facility management, personnel policies and processes, document control and records management, budget formulation, hiring, onboarding, training compliance, process improvement, quality, and assurance.

    - Develop tools (e.g., spreadsheets, documents, guides, templates) to assist in the documentation of prior decisions and actions, and to improve operational efficiency in the operational areas listed above for.

    Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    - Bachelor's degree in business or related management field, or the equivalent combination of education and extensive related experience.

    - Significant experience leading and/or managing a variety of operations and business programs at a large company or national laboratory, including strategic planning, workforce planning, budget management, organizational dynamics, and strategic and operational goal setting.

    - Significant subject matter expertise in one or more of the functions within the Operations & Business Office, experience interpreting and evaluating regulations, demonstrated ability to determine regulatory applicability and impact on operations, and experience evaluating and proposing solutions for issues related to implementation.

    Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    - Broad and deep knowledge of the Environment, Safety and Health operational and business processes, procedures, and challenges.

    - Broad knowledge of DOE/NNSA and LLNL business policies and procedures and its governance structure.

    Special Requirements

    Pre-Placement Medical Exam: A job related pre-placement medical examination may be required.

    Anticipated Clearance Level: Q (position will be cleared to this level).
