    Job Description

    Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 4-10s shift 7am to 5:30pm

    The Nurse Clinician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

    The Nurse Clinician will work in a multidisciplinary environment which will require exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. This position will utilize nursing skills to perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions; as such the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity is required when resolving patient care issues. The Nurse Clinician is also responsible for initiating & organizing patient education for the population this unit serves.

    ** Responsibilities:**

    • Perform nursing duties as assigned to support the clinical team and provide clinical interventions to meet patient needs
    • Demonstrate clinical competency when performing complex specialty-related procedures including moderate sedation and post-op care
    • Assist with surgeries and procedures done in office
    • Communicate with patients regarding inquiries, appointment needs, pre- and post-op care
      • Triage and prioritize patient calls and messages using clinical assessment skills
    • Initiate and coordinate patient education:
      • Ensure patient and/or support person understands educational materials given, including pre- and post-op instructions
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold protocols and procedures regarding patient medical information
    • Document completed nursing assessment as appropriate
    • Communicate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team as appropriate to proactively address patient needs and contribute to plan of care
    • Manage urgent/emergent medical situations as appropriate and in accordance with organization’s protocols including obtaining/operating emergency equipment according to relevant standards
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with clinic regulations, policies, and procedures related to patient care

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Required :**

    • Associate's degree in nursing
    • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
    • Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois
    • Certification in Basic CPR
    • Two years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment

    ** Preferred :**

    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (may be required for certain positions)
