    The Role You Will Play:

    This Endoscopy unit has recently relocated to a newly renovated space! This unit boasts a fast-paced environment providing care to patients in need of gastrointestinal and pulmonary endoscopic care. Some of the advanced endoscopic procedures being done at this hospital are at the only location in the state to have them performed! RNs on this unit have large support from Advanced Provider Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Surgical Technicians, Care Team Associates, and a Health Unit Coordinator. Care areas specific to this unit include patient prep, procedural rooms, and phase one and two recovery.

     

    • Procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and pleural tube placement and removal. Required skills include time management and flexibility. Required nursing skills include BLS and ACLS. Experience in PACU/procedural circulating preferred but not required.
    • The position is very hands on and includes some variety in working shifts. Nurses are able to self-schedule and choose from pre/post and circulating options. Some call is required.
    • Nurses who like a lot of flexibility in their day love this position. Every day, the patient load is different and nurses get to be a part of new, cutting edge procedures. Nurses are able to use their critical thinking skills and gain technical knowledge in working with the surgical technicians to assist during procedures.

     

    General Description:

     

    Under general direction of Nursing leadership, the RN Manager is responsible for the planning, manages and coordination of services to ensure that quality health care is delivered in the Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab services. The RN Manager is responsible for creating a dynamic patient-centered environment, managing and developing teams with hands-on clinical duties.

     

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Coordinates and manages the operational and clinical functions in conjunction with administration and medical directors.
    • Reviews and analyzes reports, records and directives.
    • Monitors the status of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
    • Evaluates, develops and implements process improvements to enhance effectiveness. Leads, develops, coaches, and effectively manages the team to ensure deliverables and performance metrics are met. Develops team to accomplish results through training, development, performance management and recognition.
    • Prepares employee evaluations and responsible for the hiring, promoting, discharging and transferring of employees.
    • Responsible for scheduling and staffing needs of the unit; available for staffing needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • Maintains the ability to perform procedures in the discipline for which they supervise.
    • Arranges appropriate in-services and continuing education programs to meet the needs of the staff.
    • Ensures the proficiency of the staff on the unit.
    • Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure efficient accomplishment of department goals and objectives to contribute while meeting all related State and Federal accreditation and governmental regulations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required. Master’s level education preferred.

     

    Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience required. Three (3) years of supervisory or charge nurse experience.

     

    License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 3 months of hire.
