Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care services to officer trainees, cadets, and staff members assigned to Officer Training School (OTS) and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) at Maxwell Air Force Base. The Nurse Practitioner will support medical evaluations, develop treatment plans, coordinate care, and serve as a liaison for preventive and occupational medicine. This role also includes contributing to policy development and working collaboratively with medical and public health teams.
General Duties:
Clinical Privileges: Provide services within the scope of privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Director.
Contractual Obligations: Perform all duties and responsibilities as specified in the contract and the PWS.
Specific Duties:
Patient Care: Deliver outpatient care in settings such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Urgent Care.
Policy and Program Development: Assist in developing policies for communicable diseases, preventive care, and occupational medicine.
Medical Consultation: Advise and support bioenvironmental engineering, military public health, and related teams.
Flexibility in Work Area: Rotate into other clinic sections as needed and complete all orientation requirements.
Documentation and Admin: Maintain accurate and timely medical records and complete administrative tasks.
Quality Improvement: Participate in self-evaluation, peer reviews, and clinic-wide quality assurance activities.
Qualifications:
Degree: Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Education: As required by Air Force and MTF regulations (see Appendix A of PWS).
Certification: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
Experience: Minimum of 24 months of Nurse Practitioner experience in the last 36 months in outpatient settings (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care).
Board Certification: Yes If applicable
Licensure: Must have a current, unrestricted license with primary source verification.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Ability to use Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as MHS Genesis and ASIMS.
Strong knowledge in preventive, occupational, and primary care medicine.
Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare and administrative teams.

Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
1-hour unpaid lunch

Physical Requirements:
Standard clinical setting; must meet immunization and occupational health requirements as specified in the PWS.
Work Environment:
Clinical setting at Maxwell AFB and nearby training sites within a 40-mile radius.
Immunization Requirement:
Must meet all MEHP immunization requirements including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, TB screening, Hepatitis B, and seasonal influenza.
Security Requirement:
Must pass Tier 1 background investigation and fingerprinting.
Completion of SF-85 required for security clearance and CAC issuance.
