Hyannis Family Medical Care dba Mashpee Family Medicine, busy Primary Care Office looking for an individual to join our family as a Family Nurse Practitioner. While our environment is fast-paced we like to have fun at work while helping patients improve their health. The individual who is picked must be able to deliver primary medical care to a wide variety of patients. Office hours are M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Responsibilities
Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
Order and perform diagnostic tests
Determine, plan and initiate appropriate treatment and adjust treatment if necessary
Educate, instruct and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans and home care and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors
Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends
Documents items such as: chief complaint, past medical, family, and social history, review of systems, examinations, medications, allergies, assessment and plan
Prescribes and administers medications, therapies, and procedures
Orders lab and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan and provides advice on follow up
Responsible for the coordination of care with specialists and appropriate ancillary services
Completes all documentation and paperwork in a timely manner
Maintains quality of care standards as defined by the practice
Qualifications
Graduate degree from an accredited nursing school
Must have a current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the State of Massachusetts
1-2 years of clinical work experience
Must be compassionate and personable
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other medical staff
Strong leadership skills
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong Computer Skills
