UBMD Primary Care seeking per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (APP) for inpatient Withdrawal & Stabilization Unit at ECMC. Will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide treatment and stabilization of patients with substance use disorders with a focus on Medication Assisted Treatment and strategies for long-term recovery.
Responsibilities include performing physical exams, ordering diagnostics, managing and treating substance use disorders, and managing and treating a variety of comorbid medical conditions. Responsibilities are assigned based on the needs and acuity of the unit and total daily patient census, as well as discharges, admissions and consults. Will also support the attending physicians working on the unit, as needed.
Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program, have current NYS license and BLS certification. Must have active DEA license. Experience in Primary Care, Family Medicine and/or Addictions preferred. ANP/FNP preferred. Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate excellent judgment and initiative during demanding situations.
Paid malpractice, 12 days of PTO per year (accrued biweekly), $1000 annual CME (pro-rated based on hire date for first year) and 3% monthly retirement contribution by company after one year of service.
Salary: $459 per weekday worked. If there is a need and the APP is available to work a weekend, the rate is
$815 per weekend day worked.

Qualifications:
Education : Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current NYS license as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certified by the NYS Education Department.
Experience : Minimum of two years’ experience in health care delivery, preferably in an inpatient setting. Experience in providing care and services to patients with substance use disorders preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication, flexibility, multi-tasking and organizational skills required. Experience using an EMR system strongly preferred.
