NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT – PART TIME
UBMD Primary Care seeking PART TIME Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (APP) for inpatient Withdrawal & Stabilization Unit at ECMC. Will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide treatment and stabilization of patients with substance use disorders with a focus on Medication Assisted Treatment and strategies for long-term recovery.
Responsibilities include performing physical exams, ordering diagnostics, managing and treating substance use disorders, and managing and treating a variety of comorbid medical conditions. Responsibilities are assigned based on the needs and acuity of the unit and total daily patient census, as well as discharges, admissions and consults. Will also support the attending physicians working on the unit, as needed.
Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program, have current NYS license and BLS certification. Must have active DEA license. Experience in Primary Care, Family Medicine and/or Addictions preferred. ANP/FNP preferred. Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate excellent judgment and initiative during demanding situations.
Approximately 25 hours/week which may be flexible in the amount of days and can be determined along with supervisor. Required availability to work one weekend per month. With the potential to move to full-time in the upcoming months!!
Paid malpractice, 12 days of PTO per year (accrued biweekly), $1000 annual CME (pro-rated based on hire date for first year) and 3% monthly retirement contribution by company after one year of service.
Salary range: $70,000 to $77,000 per year plus quarterly incentive bonuses available up to approximately $8,000 per year, plus discretionary profit share of 6% annually into retirement plan.

Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Part Time will work with patients on the Chemical Dependency unit and act as part of the care team to perform physical exams, order tests and diagnose and treat substance use disorders. Responsibilities for patient care assignments are scalable to FTE status (i.e. .80 FTE will have approximately 80%, .60 FTE would have 60% of full-time APP assignments, etc.). Responsibilities are determined and assigned based on the needs and acuity of the unit and based on total daily patient census, discharges, admissions and consults as determined by the Lead APP. Will support the Medical Director and/or other physicians working on the unit, as needed.

Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current NYS license as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certified by the NYS Education Department.
Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in health care delivery, preferably in an inpatient setting. Experience in providing care and services to patients with substance use disorders preferred.
Knowledge, Skills
& Abilities: Excellent communication, flexibility, multi-tasking and organizational skills required. Experience using an EMR system strongly preferred.
