    Job Overview:

    We are seeking candidates for the Nurse Practitioner role who will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to our nation's veterans. To meet the government’s requirements as a Nurse Practitioner, you will be required an estimated 95% of your time dedicated to direct patient care. You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of those who have served our country. This experience ensures that you bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role, enabling you to provide the highest level of care to our veteran population. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, hospitalists, and intensivists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Collaboration and communication are integral to our approach, fostering a supportive and cohesive work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for providing Family Practice and Interventional Family Practice consultative services, including assessment, diagnostic work-up, clinic intervention, and patient education. Your responsibilities will encompass both scheduled and unscheduled appointments, allowing for a diverse and rewarding patient population.     Experience Requirements:

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience within the last five years.
    • United States citizenship
    • Performing physical exams, diagnosing, ordering diagnostic tests and referral consultations, prescribing medication, treating diseases and other health conditions.
    • Experience with clinical appointments
    • Follow up and interpretation of Labs/Imaging/Procedures ordered during appointments (patient encounter)
    • Collaborative phone call consultations with hospitalists and intensivists
    • Performing case reviews with nurse practitioners on service
    • Providing family practice and interventional family practice consultative services for assessment, diagnostic workup clinic intervention, comprehensive patient assessment, health history, and patient education to outpatients scheduled and unscheduled veterans.
    • Recording/documenting health appraisal information, clinical assessments, treatment decisions, plan of care, ongoing management, and therapeutic outcomes
    • Using electronic comprehensive patient record system (CPRS)

    Experience Preferences:

    • Experience working with veteran patients of all ages

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift 35+ lbs., per OSHA recommendations

    Education Requirements:

    • VHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or equivalency
    • Family Practice Certified
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association™
    • Board certified by the ANC
    • Current unencumbered license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
