Job Summary:
Seeking a Nursing Home Manager to perform planning, directing subordinates, and interpreting policy.
Education Requirements:
Must have a current license to practice as a Nursing Home Administrator in Arizona
Driving in the course of State business is required. Must have a valid driver's license.
-Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Pubic Safety.
Responsibilities
-Leadership, financial management and oversight of a multi-dis, Medicare certified skilled nursing facility that serves the long-term and rehabilitative needs of Arizona's Veterans/Members.
-Ensures that the Arizona State Veteran's Home's resources are used effectively and efficiently to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental and psychological well-being of each Veteran/Member.
-Participants in the development and implantation of goals, objectives, programs, projects, policies and procedures related to the operation of the facility.
-Enforces department and facility policies and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements.
-This position is the "face" of the Arizona State Veterans Home and works to build collaborative and cooperative relationships with federal and state agencies. Veterans Service Organizations and other community service groups.
-Learns implements and monitors Arizona Managment System (AMS) methods. Utilizes AMS concepts and tools for problem-solving and continuous work/process improvements and efficiencies.
Qualifications
Administers, directs and coordinates all workings of all departments
Reviews and evaluates departmental operations
Interprets reports concerning departmental operations.
Prepares budgets and oversees expenditures in all departments.
Oversees all clinical and non-clinical services of the facility
Ensures that all departments comply with the policies and procedures with all regulatory entities
Participates in coordinating programs and services of the facility with other agencies.
Oversees and coordinates contract and support agreements with the facility.
Transparently communicates issues and assists resolving them to the Assistant Deputy Director.
Participates in the presentation of the facility’s annual budget.
Conducts and/or supervises special projects as assigned by the Asst. Deputy Director.
Attends various meetings, conferences etc. regarding issues related to long-term care/skilled nursing facilities and Veteran issues that impact State Veteran Homes.
Actively involved in AMS processes such as huddle boards, problem-solving, job breaks down sheets, success tracking, and standardized work.
Consults with department and facility managers relative to program objectives, staffing and equipment needs, budget, operational policies and procedures and management issues.
