    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nursing Quality Specialist.

    In this role, the successful candidate Provides quality improvement facilitation and support for nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams undertaking improvement initiatives related to the Nursing Departments Quality Plan. Supports the Department of Nursings quality and safety programs.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Perform other duties as aligned with the mission and values of the organization.
    * Monitors, evaluates, and trends patient care outcomes and other performance indicators.
    * Assists in the facilitation of quality meetings including agenda, minutes, and follow up.
    * Assists with assessment of the learning needs of nursing staff as they pertain to quality and performance improvement; assists with the provision of education and mentoring in the methods and tools of rapid cycle and continuous quality improvement.
    * Partners with Nursing Education to develop and implement Quality Plan initiatives.
    * Participates in monitoring of regulatory compliance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and assists patient care units with development and implementation of improvement strategies.
    * Participates in occurrence reviews, complaint investigations, RCAs, FMEAs and assists in facilitation of the corrective action plans with nursing leadership and staff, as appropriate
    * Participates as a member and/or facilitator of the various nursing councils and other hospital committees, as appropriate
    * Supports evidence based practice by assisting nursing staff in development of process standards that are consistent with evidence based literature, regulatory requirements, and pertinent professional nursing standards.
    * Utilizes and communicates evidence based practice in the development of the quality, safety, and performance programs of the Nursing Department.
    * Identifies factors and participates in nursing quality and safety programs to promote satisfaction of staff, patients, families and other disciplines.
    * Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with nursing staff, leadership, medical staff and other administrative staff.
    * Uses sound methodology in analyzing data, evaluating outcomes, and driving excellence
    * Assist in the preparation of quality reports for review by senior leadership.
    * Assists unit based leadership in data collection related to developing quality initiatives and action plans that reflect their specialty and that achieve evidence based practice.
    * Assists nursing leadership in the development and maintenance of Nursing Report Cards
    * Demonstrates understanding and implications of nurse-sensitive quality and other clinical indicators.
    * Demonstrates understanding of the value of professional nursing, the conceptual framework in which it is practiced and the features of an organization that attracts and retains nurses
    * Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory and NDNQI data requirements and standards for patient care services
    * Extract and analyze data to create meaningful reports to support ongoing performance improvement.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a BSN required; Masters degree in Nursing or related filed preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years recent clinical experience in acute care nursing. PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of current issues and trends in healthcare. NYS Registered Professional Nurse license. BLS required.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    BSN required, MSN preferred
    BLS required
    Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in acute care nursing at the bedside, required
    Current quality improvement experience preferred
    PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Knowledge of current healthcare issues and trends

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $120,136.64 - $156,136.64 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
