Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable nutritionist to join our neurology office team. As a nutritionist in our practice, you will play a crucial role in supporting our patients' neurological health through personalized nutrition plans and dietary counseling. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our holistic approach to patient care, aiming to optimize neurological function and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct nutritional assessments and evaluations for patients with neurological conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and others. Develop customized nutrition plans tailored to each patient’s specific neurological condition, medical history, dietary preferences, and lifestyle factors. Provide ongoing dietary counseling and education to patients and their caregivers to support adherence to prescribed nutrition plans. Collaborate closely with neurologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition therapy into comprehensive patient care plans. Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress, making adjustments to nutrition plans as needed to optimize outcomes. Stay current with advancements in nutritional science and neurology research to continuously improve patient care and treatment strategies. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient consultations, assessments, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations and office policies. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and outcomes. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Current licensure as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or eligibility for state licensure. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a nutritionist, preferably in a clinical or healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary guidelines, and their application to neurological disorders.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate patients effectively. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and nutrition assessment tools/software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or specialization in Neurology Nutrition or related field. Experience working with patients with epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, or other neurological conditions. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development in nutrition and neurology.
