O6 Environmental is currently seeking a highly motivated Payroll/Human Resource Specialist. This is a new position and will assist in the transition of implementing an HRIS/Payroll system for all three of our divisions. In addition, assisting the HR Leader with creating, developing, and implementing other foundational HR functions. Our divisions include O6 Environmental, Remediation Services, and Illini Environmental. We are a company that has doubled in size and will continue to add to our team rapidly as we develop a footprint across the nation.
Duties/Responsibilities
Qualifications
Be the Subject Matter Expert in processing payroll for all divisions.
Assist in managing all benefits, payroll processing, HRIS data analytics, payroll reporting including but not limited to; Garnishment, benefit plan obligations and other required reporting
Download of payroll transactions processed by 3rd party
Prepare Certified Payroll as applicable
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Provides clerical support for HR department.
· Responsible for maximizing efficiencies in the HRIS system and preserving data integrity.
· Serves as the HRIS subject matter expert and primary point of contact for system-related questions, issues i.e HRIS, payroll, benefits, etc.
Responsible for assistance in processing payroll for all 3 entities.
Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
Coordinate new employee onboarding, including orientation sessions and paperwork completion.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organizational-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
Responsible for tracking employees employed through a temp service, as well as organizing start dates, tracking hours, etc.
Creating disciplinary documents in alignment with the Head of HR.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
Assisting with worker's comp cases, FMLA and other leaves of absences
Assists HR Leader with routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
Assists in recruiting, interviews, and helps facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
