    What You’ll Be Doing:

    • Applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports

    • Compile and analyze financial information for entry into GL accounts

    • Prepare and analyze financial information (assets, liabilities, capital) and prepares balance sheet, P&L, and other reports

    • Records quarterly and year-end accrual entries

    • Reconcile bank statements

    • Participate in month-end financial close processing

    • Record and reconcile monthly investments, file investment confirms, analyze investment impairment, prepare quarterly investment analysis and investment budget schedules

    • Maintain fixed assets

    • Prepare monthly commission statements for agents

    • Prepare various PowerPoint slides and underlying data for claims, finance and policy analysis

    • File regulatory items with the State Insurance Departments

    • Assists in preparation of interim and annual audits, NAIC quarterly and annual statements, budget preparation, state and federal tax returns, etc

    What You Bring to the Table:

    • A degree in Finance or Accounting
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Suites (Excel, Work, Power Point, Outlook)
    • Audit Experience is a plus (but not a deal-breaker)
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts (interest, commissions, percentages, etc.)
    • Great communication skills- you can present information or respond to questions from co-workers, clients, customers, as well as write reports, business correspondence, etc.
