CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications shall be fulfilled by one individual capable of operating autonomously under the general direction of PANYNJ supervisors.
Obligations on days the individual is not required to be on-site or in a physical office shall be mitigated by conference calls, or equivalent, as directed.
The proposed on-site Consultant shall meet and or exceed the following criteria:
Specific Candidate Pre-qualification Requirements (Mandatory):
Working knowledge of Construction Codes for New Jersey, New York City, and New York State, along with the related referenced standards such as ADA Standards, etc.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Must Hold, or have the ability to obtain the following security clearances, which include an extensive (Federal) criminal background check:
SWAC clearance
TWIC clearance
SIDA clearance
Must Hold OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30), obtained within five years of the date of commencement of the assignment. OSHA qualification shall be renewed prior to five years since last qualified. Supported scaffold training may be required as well, as need by project.
Interpersonal and effective communication skills, both oral and written, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Organizational skills to correctly prioritize inspection assignments, and to organize and prepare reports.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Must be certified to work in both NY and NJ.
Technical Experience: (Mandatory) Minimum of 10 years of cumulative qualified Experience responsible for designing, installing, constructing, and inspecting various types of Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing elements; including but not limited to fire rated construction| fire/smoke dampers| electrical panels| concrete/masonry wall construction; etc. Consideration will also be given for related building code required Special Inspections for acceptance of elements noted above.
Technical Qualifications: (Preferred) The following are examples of Qualifications that will be preferred but not required: an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Architecture or Engineering, or credits toward completion of a degree from an accredited College or University.
