Security Monitor / Recovery Support (Hiring start date is March 2025)

The purpose of this role is to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, staff and the treatment center property, while building respectful relationships with all patients and helping to navigate their care.
This position reports to the Program Director.
Greet patients at the door and in the lobby to demonstrate Cedar’s care values
Converse with patients in the lobby during their wait, offering support and resources when appropriate
Assist vendors and visitors with check-in procedures
Maintain monthly checks to include fire extinguishers and emergency light checks and detect needs for service/repair and signs of tampering
Assist with required safety drills
Monitor exterior doors, sidewalks and parking areas to ensure a safe environment
Promote positive community relations by discouraging loitering, disorderly conduct, medication diversion and harassment on facility property
Monitor internal facility for safety hazards (includes spills, trip hazards, ligature risks, access to chemicals, hallway clearance, water leaks, etc).
Enforce weapon-free policy
Manage disruptive behavior by prevention and de-escalation, involving other staff as necessary [GU1]
Cooperate with law enforcement as needed
Act as support and coverage for Medical Assistant and Patient Care Coordinator
Participate in Treatment Team meetings as needed
Meet attendance and punctuality standards for scheduled shifts
Perform other duties as assigned
Oversee waiting areas for signs of diversion and illegal activity
Immediately notify medical staff for actual or suspected emergencies and potentially impaired patients
Completes additional training (in-house or external) consisting of a minimum of eight clock hours annually
Required in-person work at Cedar Recovery’s Knoxville OTP location.
6 a.m.-6 p.m. (rotating schedule) flexibility with schedule
12- and 9-hour shifts available.
Part-time and full-time work available.
