Position Summary/Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for evaluating and treating patients to help them improve their ability to perform daily activities and achieve functional independence. The OT will work closely with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement personalized treatment plans. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and developing individualized care plans.
• Implementing therapy interventions to enhance patients' functional independence and quality of life.
• Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Educating patients and families on therapy goals and strategies for improving daily function.
• Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate records in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
• Ensuring compliance with facility policies and state and federal healthcare regulations.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current and valid OT license/certification.
• Experience working with adult/geriatric populations preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient care skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including patient transfers, equipment handling, and extended periods of standing/walking.
