We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our team and contribute to our mission of helping patients regain independence and improve their overall quality of life.
Position Summary/Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) is responsible for assisting the Occupational Therapist in delivering high-quality therapy services that help patients achieve greater independence in daily living activities. Key responsibilities include:
? Assisting with patient assessments and collaborating with the Occupational Therapist to develop individualized treatment plans.
? Implementing therapy interventions to improve patients' functional abilities, mobility, and independence under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
? Monitoring and documenting patient progress, making updates to treatment plans as needed.
? Educating patients and families on therapy goals, techniques, and home care strategies.
? Ensuring compliance with documentation, facility policies, and healthcare regulations.
? Assisting in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
? Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
? Participating in quality improvement initiatives and supporting the rehab team in achieving optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
? Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
? Current and valid OTA certification/license in the state of employment.
? Ability to work with patients in various settings, including long-term care, outpatient, or acute care environments.
? Proficiency in EMR systems and maintaining accurate patient documentation.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and team members.
? Ability to perform physical tasks such as patient transfers, use of therapeutic equipment, and prolonged standing/walking.
