Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Fairfield, IA team. This position includes a mix of outpatient therapy, along with some Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and hospital coverage. Our clinic is supported by a very seasoned, collaborative team. We welcome new graduates and provide a structured mentorship program to help you thrive in your new role.
Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assess, treat, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs.
- Documentation: Complete accurate, timely documentation for patient evaluations, treatments, and progress.
- Program Development: Plan, market, and develop new therapy programs to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Staff Education: Present in-service training sessions to fellow staff therapists and contribute to continuous learning.
- Operational Support: Assist in the general operation of the therapy department, ensuring high standards of care and efficiency.
- Supervision: Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with state regulations, as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s (B.A., B.S.), Master’s (M.A., M.S.), or Doctorate (OTD) in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensure: Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program. Must possess or be eligible for state licensure in Iowa.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, compassionate patient care, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience: New graduates are welcome! Experience in outpatient and inpatient therapy is a plus, but not required.
