Job Description:
This opportunity is ideal for a self-driven and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to build upon past experience or a new Occupational Therapy graduate seeking a challenging start to their career. (NEW GRADS ARE WELCOME!)
Perform and document initial assessments, evaluate data to identify problems, and determine diagnoses prior to intervention.
Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs to maintain, improve, or restore occupational functioning, alleviate difficulties, or prevent dysfunction in patients.
Record prognosis, treatment response, and progress in patient charts or computer systems.
Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
Administer exercises, manual therapy, or adaptive equipment to help patients achieve their goals.
Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Test and measure patient’s strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, and more, recording data accurately.
Instruct patients and families in treatment procedures to continue at home.
Confer with patients, medical practitioners, or other appropriate parties to plan, implement, or assess intervention programs.
Review physician’s referrals and patient medical records to help determine diagnosis and treatment required.
Comply with professional, ethical, and legal standards.

Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
NY State Occupational Therapy license
Confident clinical decision-making skills
