REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
CLASSIFICATION: Non- Exempt
FUNCTION: Supervised Patient Services and Clinic Maintenance and Operations
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in the provision of patient care and related activities under the direct, on-site supervision of a physical/occupational therapist.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Physical/Occupational Therapist with patient care and related activities following formal on the job training and competency testing.
Assist the Physical/Occupational Therapist with patient data intake and support documentation.
Report all treatment procedures performed as delegated and under directly to the Physical Therapist/Occupational.
Assist with and/or carry out routine cleaning, maintenance support operations of the clinic’s physical plant, patient care equipment and supplies.
Manages patient case details including documentation, patient tracking, insurance benefits and scheduling.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A person who has an interest in pursuing a career in Physical or Occupational Therapy or a related healthcare profession
A person who demonstrates the physical and mental capabilities (practical &/or written, post training competency test) to perform the duties required of the position
A person who can meet the physical demand level of the position
EDUCATION:
High school or equivalent skills & aptitude required
Health Occupations Courses in High School, desirable
College level basic science course, desirable
Kinesiology / Exercise Science background preferred
EXPERIENCE:
None required, but previous therapy, health delivery observation or volunteer hours, desirable
PHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY:
Consistent with published industry PDC norms or minimally:
Requires manual dexterity and general strength and endurance
Lifting---routinely loads of 5-35 pounds from
Floor to waist
Waist to shoulder
Shoulder to overhead
Carrying—routinely loads of 5-10 pounds for 40-50’
Pushing---routinely loads of 5-75 pounds on casters, runners or pulleys
Assist in patient ambulation and transfers
