    Assistant Football Coach – Offensive Line

    Summary:

    This position is a 12-month position and will primarily provide coaching functions and duties to student athletes.The Assistant Football Coach (Offensive Line) works under the supervision of the Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator. This position includes coaching the offensive line on the field, position meetings, special teams’ duties, as well as all things that go along with coaching; recruiting; organize official and unofficial visits; assist with practice, game preparations, and planning of travel itineraries; assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring, fundraising, game management and scheduling and any other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach or Offensive Coordinator. Must be proficient with HUDL, Microsoft Excel, Word.

    An individual in this position is expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

    Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse student population.

    Ability to perform work beyond a standard 40-hour work week when workload requires.

    Either a copy of, or authorization for, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1 year of Coaching experience.

    Demonstrated commitment to community development.

    Skills needed for the position:

    A thorough knowledge of the game of Football.

    Conflict Resolution.

    Understand the Housing Rules and Regulations.

    The ability to maintain confidentiality is required.

    Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    Essential Duties:

    General:

    Ensures the safeguarding of all confidential files.

    Attends and participates in all required training.

    Maintains a positive and cooperative work attitude and work environment.

    Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals.

    Submits Student of Concern reports when necessary.

    Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

    Attends and participates in all required training.

    Reports to work at assigned work area no later than the scheduled time to begin each workday.

    Maintains a positive professional attitude and work environment.

    Drive a college vehicle to the airport and certain local destinations.

    Model the Way for students at ICC.

    This position requires work and travel outside of Monday-Friday, including evenings, nights, and weekends to support the goals towards growth in the college.

    Coaching:

    Assist the Offensive Coordinator in developing offensive game plans, strategies, and tactics to optimize team performance during practices and games.

    Instruct and mentor student-athletes on offensive techniques, skills, and positional responsibilities in alignment with team objectives and coaching philosophy.

    Collaborate with the coaching staff to evaluate player performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop individualized training programs.

    Recruit talented student-athletes by evaluating prospective recruits, establishing relationships with high school coaches, and representing the university at recruiting events.

    Monitor the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes, providing guidance and support to ensure their success on and off the field.

    Assist with organizing and conducting team practices, conditioning sessions, and film study sessions to enhance player development and tactical understanding.

    Participate in the selection and fitting of team equipment.

    Promote the athletic program and specific sports through community events, public speaking, fundraising, and marketing.

    Ensure adherence to all Association, Conference, and College rules by athletes and supporting staff.

    Monitor academic progress and status of team members, implementing action plans through appropriate staff when needed.

    Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics program.

    As a member of the athletics department there may be other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
