    We are seeking a Receptionist/Office Assistant or Medical Assistant to join our Mental Health Private Practice Admin team in our Apex office! You will be the face of our practice and will be a highly valued and appreciated member of our team. Your personality will set the tone of this office. We are looking for someone who is polished and professional, friendly and comfortable greeting patients, has a positive and can do attitude and takes pride in keeping the office neat, tidy and enjoyable. You will work directly with our Practice Manager, located in our Cary office; our New Patient Coordinator, located in our Fuquay office; our med providers in all offices; and our therapists and patients in the Apex office.

    Primary responsibility will be supporting our growing team of medication providers. Experience with Prior Authorizations for medication is required to be considered for this position.

    Other responsibilities include creating and maintaining a welcoming, clean and professional office environment for providers and patients, greeting patients, learning patients' names, confirming we have the correct insurance on file and letting providers know patients have arrived. Although you will physically work out of the Apex office, you will be the primary point of support for our 4 medication providers in all offices. You will confirm active insurance benefits and will handle all prior-authorizations for our psychiatric nurse practitioners and psychiatric physician assistants. We will also need you to answer phone calls, message clients in our HIPAA compliant messaging app, and assist with general administration duties as needed. Currently all billing and collections tasks are handled off-site however you may be asked to collect copays from Apex patients in the future.

    Qualifications

    Experience working in a medical or psychiatric office required

    Experience conducting prior authorizations for medication required

    Experience working with electronic health records required

    Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite

    Experience verifying insurance benefits and communicating with insurances

    Strong customer service skills

    Willingness to problem solve and make things easy for patients and providers

    As our practice expands, our admin team, and this role, are evolving. Let's talk about your availability. We are willing to consider hiring one full time candidate to work traditional office hours or possibly 2 part-time candidates to cover the office from 8:30am to 7pm. We expect to offer health insurance benefits by 2025 for full time candidates.
