    Overview: BBTE After-School Program is seeking a reliable and organized Part-Time Office Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our program. This position will primarily assist with administrative tasks in the office while also playing a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient dismissal of students at the end of each day. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be passionate about supporting children and families.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Administrative Support:

    Assist with general office tasks such as filing, data entry, answering phone calls, and responding to emails.

    Help maintain student records, attendance logs, and program materials.

    Prepare and organize paperwork for parents, staff, and students.

    Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and coordinating meetings or events as needed.

    Support the Program Coordinator with administrative tasks related to program operations.

    Dismissal Support:

    Ensure the safe and orderly dismissal of students at the end of the day, following all protocols for identifying authorized pick-up persons.

    Assist with the coordination of carpool, bus, and walk-up dismissal procedures.

    Communicate with parents and guardians regarding any last-minute changes or updates to dismissal plans.

    Supervise students during dismissal to ensure safety and efficiency.

    Maintain accurate records of student pick-up times and any issues that arise during the dismissal process.

    Customer Service:

    Greet parents, guardians, and students warmly, providing assistance as needed.

    Address questions and concerns from parents in a professional and friendly manner.

    Serve as a point of contact for general program inquiries and concerns.

    General Program Support:

    Assist staff with various program-related tasks as needed, including student activities or materials prep.

    Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the office and other program spaces.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework is a plus.

    Previous office or administrative experience is preferred but not required.

    Ability to interact with children, parents, and staff in a positive, respectful, and professional manner.

    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.

    Must be able to pass a background check and any other applicable screenings.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

    Occasional lifting of light to moderate items (e.g., program supplies, student belongings).

    Compensation:

    Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
