Job Description:
Our Corporate location in Piscataway is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our corporate office team. The position acts as a supporting role for our pharmacy operations, assisting and overseeing medication verification, Prescription Rx compliance, billing insurance, patient wellness and ensuring compliance with regulations and others administrative functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong 2+ years of pharmacy retail experience, customer service skills, and proficiency in office software—particularly Microsoft Excel—for managing reports and audits. Key Responsibilities:
Documenting/Recording Information: Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries, processing transactions, and resolving concerns in a professional manner.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, perform regular stock audits, and use Microsoft Excel to track supplies and reorder medications as needed.
Data Management & Reporting: Utilize Excel to create and maintain reports related to inventory, insurance claims, and other operational data. Analyze trends and assist in improving operational efficiency.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure pharmacy operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation for auditing purposes.
Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date patient records and pharmacy documentation, ensuring all transactions are logged properly.
Insurance Processing: Handle insurance claims, track reimbursements, and resolve any related issues in a timely manner.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists, corporate team members, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe and compliant pharmacy environment.
Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred. Immunization certification (preferred but not required)
Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting preferred, with an emphasis on operational support.
Knowledge:
Drug interactions: Knowledge of Drug interactions
Retail Pharmacy: Knowledge & experience in working in the Retail Pharmacy setting (preferred)
Billing: Knowledge of billing of insurance, Medicare billing.
Knowledge of Pharmacy Laws: Understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with all standards.
Administrative: Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology. (preferred but not required)
Skills:
Excel Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including creating spreadsheets, data entry, reporting, and analysis.
Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to interact with patients, team members, and corporate leadership.
Multi-tasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Computer literacy: Able to utilize and learn software's such as excel, outcomes, Best Rx and others.
