    Summary:

    The Creative Designer at D’Youville University is responsible for assisting the communications and marketing team in the design, editing, and production of communications and marketing materials for both print and digital media in the areas of university marketing and communication. This position will also support the University Office of Communications & Marketing with photography and videography. This position reports to the Director of Digital Communications & Media.

    Responsibilities:

    • Executing high-quality print and digital graphic work for all areas of campus including academics, enrollment, advancement, athletics, etc. as requested. Projects may include but are not limited to logos, flyers, social media graphics, digital platforms, programs, advertisements, publications, and signage.
    • Ensuring all designs adhere to overall university brand standards and best practices while delivering innovative and quality work.
    • Overseeing and approving all creative assets for DYU.
    • Assisting with the design and related creative presentation of www.dyu.edu.
    • Photographing and/or filming on behalf of the University as assigned.
    • Contributing to the University’s digital asset management system and assisting in the archiving, tagging, and organization of digital files.
    • Assist with editorial calendars, project planning, and other marketing and communications initiatives.
    • Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the university Office of Communications & Marketing as well as other offices across campus.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in English, creative writing, journalism, graphic design, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.

    Experience:

    • One year of experience or demonstrated equivalency in communications, marketing, graphic design, or related fields. Experience may be substituted by equivalent one year of high-quality, professional student or internship work.
    • Desire at least 1-3 years of professional experience or a combination of experience, internships, and related.
    • Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn new and emerging technology.

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Proficiency with digital and print content development tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite).
    • Basic photography and videography skills a plus.
    • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and work flexible hours.
    • Working proficiency with video editing and production tools (e.g. Adobe Premier, Final Cut)
    • Handle multiple tasks and priorities at once while solving problems and being innovative.
    • Must possess a student-centered personal philosophy.
    • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours.
    • Uphold and abide by D’Youville University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX and Information Security, including but not limited to FERPA and other state and federal guidelines and mandates.

    Pay: $55,000.00 - $59,000.00 Annually
