    Job Description

    The On-Air Talent will play a crucial role in supporting Telemundo Deportes by researching, writing, producing, and hosting our daily sports show, “El Pelotazo”. This position requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about sports and has the ability to engage and captivate our audience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating compelling content, conducting interviews, and providing insightful commentary on various sports topics. Additionally, the On-Air Talent will collaborate with producers, managers, and other team members to ensure the show's success and maintain high production standards.

    Basic Requirements:

    • Hosts the show and associated segments.
    • Be aware of the show rundown and prepares for presentation on air and/or on digital platforms.
    • Actively participates in daily editorial meetings, pitching stories that interest our viewers.
    • Develops and maintains community contacts and stays updated on sports events.
    • Creates enterprise and exclusive content.
    • Collaborates with producers, managers, and photographers to conceptualize, write, and produce stories.
    • Generates a wide variety of story ideas, researches, and sets up content and interviews.
    • Incorporates social media into the daily routine to connect and engage with audiences.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • BA/BS Degree in Journalism or related field.
    • Must have excellent Spanish language skills, including verbal and written.
    • Must also have solid English language skills.
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in television as a Sports Anchor or Soccer Analyst.
    • Must have good computer skills and digital research knowledge.
    • Must have a strong understanding of other sports and demonstrate good sports news judgment.
    • Solid knowledge of social media and proven engagement in a variety of digital content platforms.
    • Ability to ad-lib effortlessly on-air in various broadcast situations, particularly during breaking news.
    • Ability to enterprise important, engaging, and useful stories for our viewing audience.
    • Excellent interviewing skills.
    • Must be able to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines, including flexible hours and schedules when necessary, working weekends and special network events.
    • Must possess the ability to work well and effectively with others in a team environment, in the newsroom as well as out in the field.
    • Must be able to travel, work long hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

    Additional Requirements:

    • This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
