    Urgent Need for Oncology Physician Services

    The Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is urgently seeking a Board-Certified Oncology Physician to provide oncology services as part of a newly awarded Task Order.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct patient care to oncology patients at the Buffalo VAMC.
    • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and administer appropriate oncology care in accordance with established standards.
    • Be available for on-call duties during off-hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. On-call availability requires response within 15 minutes by phone and 60 minutes on-site.
    • Provide timely care during normal clinic hours, which are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
    • Travel to nearby VA facilities (Batavia VAMC and Olean CBOC) as needed for patient coverage, expected at least 2 trips per month. Travel will be reimbursed at $80 per trip.
    • Ensure compliance with VA clinic wait times and patient care regulations.
    • Document all treatments, consultations, and procedures performed in accordance with VA policies.
    • Collaborate with VA healthcare providers and staff to improve patient outcomes and care delivery.

    Qualifications:

    • Board-Certified Oncology Physician with active state licensure.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in an oncology setting.
    • Strong ability to provide compassionate care and communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
    • Availability for on-call duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Willingness to travel locally to nearby VA facilities (Batavia VAMC and Olean CBOC).
    • Proven ability to meet patient care expectations while maintaining professionalism and compliance with all regulations.
    • Adherence to the professional standards outlined by the Joint Commission (TJC), American Hospital Association (AHA), and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

    Billing and Travel Details:

    • Regular Hours Bill Rate: $230.00/hr (1099)
    • On-Call Hours Bill Rate: $20.00/hr
    • Local Travel: Travel to Batavia VAMC and Olean CBOC is reimbursed at $80 per trip (approximately 2 trips per month).
