      Job Overview:

      • We are seeking compassionate Oncology Registered Nurses to join our team in Little Rock, AR. For this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing comprehensive nursing care in oncology settings. As an Oncology RN, you will coordinate patient care with precision and educate patients and the community about illnesses, diseases, and health conditions. Collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare teams, you will deliver personalized care that addresses both the physical and emotional needs of patients, and other duties as assigned. Upholding the highest clinical standards, you will ensure the provision of top-quality, patient-centered care, making a significant impact on the well-being of those you serve.

      Experience Requirements:

      • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in oncology nursing.
      • Strong background in critical care nursing, adept at assessing a managing critically ill patients, handling complex medical conditions and responding to emergencies.
      • Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ medical conditions, including vital signs, pain levels, neurologic status, and psychological factors.
      • Develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs, integrating evidence-based practices, physician orders, and interdisciplinary input.
      • Administer medications via various routes (IV, oral, subcutaneous), following medication safety protocols and accurate dosing calculations.
      • Perform complex treatments and procedures such as chemotherapy administration, radiation therapy support, wound care, central line maintenance, and medication titration.
      • Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and lab values, promptly recognizing changes in patient conditions and responding appropriately.
      • Continuously assess patient responses to treatments and interventions, adjusting care plans and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize outcomes.
      • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, social workers) to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
      • Communicate pertinent patient information, changes in patient status, and care plans clearly and concisely during interdisciplinary rounds and handoffs.
      • Provide comprehensive education and counseling to patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, medication regimens, and symptom management.
      • Address patient and family concerns, questions, and anxieties with empathy and professionalism.
      • Maintain accurate Electronic Health Records, documenting patient assessments, interventions, treatment responses, and multidisciplinary care plans in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
      • Timely and thorough documentation of all clinical activities, including medication administration records, progress notes, discharge summaries, and incident reports.
      • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses

      Experience Preferences:

      • 3 years or prior experience working for the VA may receive a more favorable rating.

      Education Requirements:

      • Current, valid, and unrestricted state license for Registered Nurse.
      • All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification, degrees, and/or licenses must be always kept up to date. The Contractor shall provide documentation verifying current certification to the VA COR upon request.
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.

      Schedule:

      • May be required to work in areas of the highest need on the date of their scheduled shifts.
      • Coverage may include weekends, federal holidays, days, evenings, or overnights, and are variable within a 24-hour period.
      • RNs shall be required to work any regular or irregular tour, with 8-hour and 12-hour tours typically being:

      8 Hour Tour:

      • Day: 7:30AM - 4:00PM
      • Evening: 3:30PM - 12AM
      • Night: 11:30AM - 8:00AM

      12 Hour Tour:

      • Day: 7:00AM - 7:30PM
      • Night: 7:00PM - 7:30AM
