Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Operational Support Specialist is to develop and oversee the implementation of strategic IT plans, manage IT security, and support various technology platforms. This role involves administering accounts, maintaining Apple devices, and managing O365, Windows Server, and other IT systems. The specialist coordinates system maintenance, conducts security audits, and manages both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. Additionally, they provide technical support, maintain vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with security protocols. The role also includes administrative support tasks such as vendor interactions, inventory management, scheduling, and visitor coordination, ensuring the smooth operation of the center.
Essential duties and responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
IT Support:
· Develop and oversee the implementation of long and short-term strategic plans for IT.
· Administer and support technology accounts, including Microsoft, Zoom, APS, NPA, and other platforms.
· Manage IT security, including Security Event Monitoring using SIEM tools.
· Maintain and manage Apple IOS and MacOS devices.
· Administer Copilot M365, Windows Server, firewalls, Antivirus solutions, Backup and Recovery products, and processes.
· Coordinate maintenance and patching of IT systems.
· Conduct periodic audits and due diligence checks of security protocols.
· Manage day-to-day operations of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure.
· Troubleshoot IT issues, including desktop support.
· Maintain vendor relationships and help facilitate hardware, software, maintenance, and support purchases.
· Provide technical A/V support to staff and guests.
· Develop and implement IT access controls and security measures.
· Brief senior leadership on the status of security systems and protocols.
Administrative Support:
· Facilitate interactions with vendors and outside contractors.
· Manage inventory and procure PPE for the company.
· Ensure proper documentation and filing within HIPAA requirements.
· Support staff and client intake processes.
· Coordinate offboarding company-wide.
· Answer phone calls and coordinate as necessary.
· Welcome and coordinate visitors.
· Ensure proper opening and closing of the center.
· Perform other duties as needed or assigned by center BCBAs, Director or direct supervisor.
Minimum Requirements (education, certifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities):
· Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, information technology, computer science, business, communications, or a similar field strongly preferred but not required.
· 3-5 years of experience with server and network administration, virtualization, Apple IOS, MacOS, PC\Windows, MS Office, and Microsoft Copilot M365 highly preferred.
· One to three years of administrative experience strongly preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficient with JAMF and other Mac related software.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as record keeping and filing.
· Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
Working Environment:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Must be able to routinely lift up to 15 pounds at a time
Physical Demands:
· Activities require a significant amount of moving and engaging with clients. This may include sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, walking, and running.
