The Opportunity:
Daisy is a national smart space installation and services company that simplifies smart home and office technology to make it work optimally, solving one of the biggest in-home problems today and bringing more joy into the lives of our clients.
We are looking for an Operations Lead who will oversee and optimize the performance of Daisy’s Ocala branch, understanding day to day business needs and practices, as well as continuous improvement opportunities. The Operations Lead will understand and map processes across the business and implement standards and best practices, as well as drive the headcount and hiring strategy. As a strong people manager, this individual will manage and lead our branch team and drive performance and development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Support Daisy’s rapid, yet responsible scaling of operations; map existing processes and determine improvement opportunities; create standard work
Support day to day operational challenges and opportunities, as well as longer term strategic opportunities
Develop key performance indicators and metrics to assess ongoing business performance relative to company goals
Lead operational due diligence, talent assessments, in conjunction with human resources
Develop and execute operational initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiency and profitability enhancement.
Human Resources (HR):
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and employee orientation to ensure the acquisition and retention of top talent.
Maintain and enforce compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies.
Proactively manage employee relations, resolving conflicts and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Develop and implement robust HR policies and procedures.
Administration:
Oversee the preparation and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Manage and oversee insurance policies, including renewals and claims processing.
Ensure timely renewal of business licenses, certifications, and other regulatory requirements.
Strategically organize and manage meetings, events, and appointments to optimize time and resources.
Implement and refine office procedures and policies to enhance operational efficiency.
Overall asset management, oversight and compliance.
Bookkeeping:
Conduct and ensure the accuracy of financial records and oversee general ledger entries with precision.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions to maintain financial integrity.
Prepare comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Assist in the strategic preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and tax filings.
Finance:
Oversee the organization's financial health, implementing strong financial management practices.
Develop, monitor, and enforce budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Ensure strict compliance with financial regulations and standards, including timely and accurate tax filings.
File necessary financial documents and maintain organized financial records.
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and reviews, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Purchasing:
Direct procurement processes, including strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations.
Oversee the acquisition of equipment, office supplies, and services, ensuring cost-effective and efficient procurement practices.
Manage inventory levels to ensure operational readiness and cost control.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring high quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in operations roles
Bachelor's Degree
MBA preferred but not required
Experience with operations and/or services organizations
Familiarity with smart home technology industry
Proven ability to drive operational efficiencies and integrations
Strong collaboration and negotiation skills
Proven analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Adaptability to shifting priorities, last-minute changes and requests – experience in a fast paced, start-up environment preferable to be set up for success
Strong time-management and multi-tasking skills
Ability to look at the "big picture" without overlooking the smaller nuances
Ability to lead a team and keep team members motivated, informed, and aligned
Strong communications skills – particularly around presenting highly technical ideas and information in a way that is easily accessible
Schedule/Expected Work Hours:
Monday-Friday 7:00 - 4:00
