Korpi Lawn & Landscape and its affiliated quarrying company are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in the continued success of both organizations. In this unique dual-company leadership position, you will leverage your expertise to streamline operations, optimize processes, and drive growth across both entities.
Job Summary:
As our Operations Manager, you will be the linchpin connecting our landscape and quarry operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, team leadership, financial management, client relations, and sales/estimating across both companies. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record of optimizing operations and fostering a positive company culture.
Job Functions:
Communicate and coordinate effectively with customers, foremen, and architects for accurate job completion in both landscaping and quarrying projects.
Ensure customer needs are met and exceeded in all interactions.
Grow and train employees to improve company culture and lower turnover rates across both companies.
Ensure jobs are completed within time frames and at or under budget in both companies.
Ensure the fulfillment of orders for both landscaping and quarry materials.
Effectively manage employees of different skillsets and knowledge across both companies.
Any other tasks delegated by owners to support the success of both companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Develop and implement detailed project plans and schedules for both landscaping and quarrying operations.
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality.
Team Leadership:
Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide guidance to team members across both companies.
Foster a positive and productive team environment.
Train and promote the development of subordinates in best practices.
Financial Management:
Prepare accurate cost estimates and project budgets.
Track project expenses and revenue.
Monitor financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Client Relations:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across both companies.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
Address client concerns and resolve issues promptly.
Sales and Estimating:
Generate sales leads and prepare accurate project estimates as needed.
Present proposals to clients.
Lead negotiation discussions, pricing conversations, and contract finalization.
Work closely with crews to ensure seamless project handoff and successful project kick-off post-contract signing.
Technical Expertise:
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in both landscaping and quarrying.
Utilize industry-standard software and tools.
Possess a strong understanding of plant materials, irrigation systems, landscape construction techniques, and quarrying practices.
Job Requirements:
Background in operations management.
Knowledge in landscaping practices is a plus.
Knowledge in quarrying practices is a plus.
Knowledge in growing and training teams.
Highly-motivated, self-driven individual who is detail-oriented.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in management.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 125 lbs), carrying materials, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, and balancing.
Ability to work in variable weather conditions and extreme conditions.

Compensation & Benefits:
Pay is DOE (Depends on Experience).
